VODO launched this week with Us Now, new documentary film from director Ivo Gormley. Our ‘Distribution Coalition’ (DISCO), comprised of P2P heavyweights including Mininova, Isohunt, Plube, OneDDL, TorrentReactor, Legal Torrents and others propelled the film to 25,000 downloads in the first twenty four hours. (And with 1,800 seeders on Mininova at the time of writing, beating out Michael Mann’s Public Enemies, we’re still piling on the downloads. Full stats will be available soon.)

We got a lot of Russian visitors because Vesti, one of the largest Russian channels, decided to run a special on us only one day after launching. (Thanks Vesti!) As a result of that it’s been suggested that we a) translate the site into Russian and b) add Torrents.ru to the DISCO. Honestly, a) is probably more than we can manage right now as we’ll be making significant changes to the site in the coming weeks, but we’re hoping that b) happens really soon.

What’s more we got our first Regular Supporters, so we’d like to say a big thanks to everyone who committed to help us move VODO along.
